Crush loses heartbreaker

Late rally falls short

The Mimosa Crush, 13-14 year-old Franchise Team coached by Kerry Savoie, were runner up after losing to Mimosa Boudreaux 7-6. Savoie’s team took an early lead in the bottom of the 2nd inning with a single scored by Austin Savoie. This would change in the top of the 4th inning as Boudreaux’s team scored 5 runs by Jared Vial, Dylan Boudreaux, Brandon Ballard, Blake Stillinger and Jatin Patel.

The Crush’s attempts to score dried up until Brandon Young scored in the bottom of the 6th inning.

While Crush struggled to score, Boudreaux would once again add to their score with runs made by Joey Mautemps and Dylan Boudreaux in the top of the 7th.

In the bottom of the 7th with the score standing 7-2 in Boudreaux’s favor, Savoie’s team attempted to come back.

The Crush’s, Chase Petit, scored a run, but not until after the first out was already made. The second out came immediately after Petit’s run.

After two outs, the Crush started to rally, scoring 3 more runs by James Sierra, Matt Allo and Jarin Lanier. The lead was cut to 7-6.

Ryne Robert got on first base by error and immediately attempted to steal second. The pitcher Dylan Boudreaux of Boudreaux’s team pursues Robert until alerted that Young is going home after being sent by Coach Savoie.

Boudreaux stopped, turned and fired home to catcher Jared Vial catching Young in a run down. Eventually the tag was made at the plate ending the game 7-6.
