Colin Troxler named player of the year in kids’ summer golf tour

Colin Troxler was awarded the Player of the Year Award for his age group in the 2008 U.S. Kids Summer Tour that took place in the surrounding Baton Rouge area.

Troxler competed in the 11-year-old division in eight one-day tournaments. He played at 5,200 yards for 18 holes.

Points were allocated to the top finishes of each event.

At seasons end, Troxler’s record stood at two wins, four seconds, one third and a forth.

His first place finishes included, a 78 at Pelican Point Lakes and an 81 at Copper Mill.

With this honor Troxler receives and automatic invitation to next year’s U.S. Kids Golf Regional Championship (location not yet determined) and the US Kids Golf World Championship held in Pinehurst, North Carolina.

The U.S. Kids Tour is sponsored and run by the PGA of America.
