BEST BEST: Ladies fall bible study explores living beyond yourself

A non-denominational bible study focusing on the spiritual truths and concepts on the book of Galations will begin August 27 through November 14 with a break in between. Classes will be on Monday nights from 7-9 and Wednesday mornings from 9:30 to 11:30 at the Bible Center Church on Barton Ave. in Luling.

“Come and be prepared to be blessed and deepen you abiding relationship with Jesus Christ,” says Margie Brannen Pierce.

Pray for our soldiers in Iraq at St. Mark’s peace mass

St. Mark’s Catholic church on River Road in Ama is holding a peace mass and rosary on Wednesday, Sept. 5. Everyone is invited to come and pray with the St. Mark’s community for relatives and friends in Iraq who are fighting in the war.

Rosary will begin at 6 p.m., confessions at 6:30 p.m. and mass at 7 p.m.
