New Orleans Rosary Bowl

Fr. James Kelleher, S.O.L.T. will be the featured speaker at this rosary crusade from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Sat. Sept. 8 in Audubon Park at the Shelter 10 pavilion. Fr. Kelleher is the leader of the Russian mission team and travels all over the world promoting rosary crusades. The purpose: to pray for the rebuilding of New Orleans according to God’s holy and moral laws. “May almighty God build our house and watch over our city.” (psalm 127)

Faith, science often at odds when it comes to origins of life

The relationship between faith and science in the United States seems, at least on the surface, to be paradoxical. Surveys repeatedly show that most Americans respect science and the benefits it brings to society, such as new technologies and medical treatments. And yet, religious convictions limit many Americans’ willingness to accept controversial scientific theories as well as certain types of scientific research, such as the potential use of embryonic stem cells for medical treatments.

Are tattoos and body piercings moral?

Many upright people are repelled by modern fads and fashions, such as tattooing, multiple earrings and other body piercing, but feel unequipped to give a clear judgment on the morality of such practices, or to rebut the charge that they are elevating their personal preferences into a moral code. In this article, I will set out some criteria that are relevant to making a moral judgment on these things.
