The Perfect Mother wants her children to succeed so much that her heart bleeds when they don’t.
I want you to imagine for a moment that you are the mother or father of a young child who you love so very much. Some of you may actually be in this role right now, or have been in the past. Now, imagine that this young child is playing outside and he begins to run toward this main highway nearby.
You call out to the child to stop as you begin running after him. He doesn’t stop, it’s as though he doesn’t hear you because he has his attention fixed on something ahead of him.
The child keeps running toward the heavily trafficked area, you keep running behind him, yelling his name and shouting, “STOP!”… and whatever else you can think of, but it seems nothing is going to stop him; and as well, you know nothing is going to get the attention of the oncoming cars in time to stop.
This situation grips your heart because it seems there’s nothing you can do to prevent your child from being hit and killed instantly. And, on top of that, you have to witness the whole thing…
I’m sure none of us would want to find ourselves in such a situation, and my heartfelt sympathy to anyone who has, but I share this as a limited analogy of what our Heavenly Mother Mary, and ultimately our Divine Lord, experiences for many in the world today.
“My heart is bleeding!” she reportedly tells us through Fr. Stephano Gobbi.
“My heart is transfixed with deep wounds. My heart is immersed in a sea of sorrow. You live unconscious of the fate, which is awaiting you. You are spending your days in a state of unawareness, of indifference and of complete incredulity. How is this possible when I, in so many ways and with extraordinary signs, have warned you of the danger into which you are running and have foretold you of the bloody ordeal which is just about to take place?
“Because this humanity has not accepted my repeated call to conversion, to repentance and to a return to God, there is about to fall upon it the greatest chastisement which the history of mankind has ever known. It is a chastisement much greater than that of the flood. Fire will fall from Heaven and a great part of humanity will be destroyed” (MMP 332b-f)*.
I share this message not to evoke fear and panic in anyone, because at the same time Mary echo’s our Lord’s words in Scripture, “Do not be afraid!”
I share this message, rather, to remind us of the state of affairs, so that if anyone reading this has not yet repented, converted and surrendered their lives to God, they may now be inspired to do so.
Just as all of us would have wanted so badly to get the attention of the child as it ran toward the traffic, God has sent our Heavenly Mother into the world in a special way to try to get our attention and stop us from running forward toward eternal destruction in hell, which is much worse than getting run over by a car.
It grips our Mother’s heart with great pain to see that many of her children are not listening to her (our Lord) and being lost.
Such admonition is not meant for those who are already listening to God’s inspirations and seeking to live the right path. But it is an encouragement to us to seek all the more wholeheartedly to follow God’s holy will and inspirations. And it is an encouragement to us to pray for our brothers and sisters who are in darkness and don’t have “ears to hear.”
Yes, we must be upfront about the reality that hell does exist and many people are going there by the way they are choosing to live their lives here on earth. And, it will be an eternity of great darkness, despair and suffering.
But let us also be upfront about the reality that Heaven exists and many people are going there as well (many after a time of purging in purgatory), and an eternity of great light, love, joy, peace and bliss await those of us who say “yes” to God, as Mary did, and seek to live for Him.
Our Mother’s words above that I shared flow out of a heart filled with intense love for each of us her children. And she is reflecting the heart of our Heavenly Father, who is consumed with profound love for us, and longs for us to live with Him for all eternity. Today Mary’s Heart is a refuge for us, wherein we can experience a part of paradise while here on Earth.
*I share these reported messages from heaven with you because they have the backing of many Cardinals, Bishops and priests, but in general it is very important to be discerning about private revelation, because, although many are true, satan is counterfeiting many as well.
