Christmas should be a simple celebration

Christmas is upon us and we wish everyone a merry one. It is the season of the year when love takes over and doubts and other questionable attitudes are shoved aside.

We look to the teachings of Jesus Christ  to support us in depending upon our beliefs and prayers to make the lives of ourselves and others just.

The commercial season of Christmas keeps growing and growing and now it actually starts almost two months before the actual day of celebration.

Which isn’t bad because it extends the period of concentration on what we are celebrating.

But we should  be sure that what we are celebrating – – the birth of Christ which brought love and justice to the world – – is not forgotten in the hobglob of shopping and holiday lights. The long lasting celebration should not destroy that.

To be simple, Christmas Day is a time to bow our heads, express thanks to the child that brought the message of love and justice to the world and celebrate that it happened. If we can at least reserve that day for that purpose, and let it linger in our hearts and inspire our futures to make this world a divine place, it will be a merry occasion, indeed.
