Business fest great way to support local businesses

This weekend, do yourself a favor and check out the St. Charles Business Fest and Craft Fair that will be held on March 5 and 6 in the Hahnville High School gym.

For years, businesses have gathered in the gym in an attempt to get to know area residents while also displaying the services they offer. And while the fest hasn’t had a problem bringing in businesses, the event has not been heavily attended in recent years.

With the economic struggles our nation and state are dealing with nowadays, its’ always in our best interest to support local businesses. You won’t be pressured into buying anything at the fest, but you will get to know the people behind some of our local businesses.

And it’s the people that make all the difference. You never know, you might see some great local offerings and meet some great business owners and decide that you really don’t need to leave the parish to shop.

Plus, the fest does offer door prizes, so you might walk out with some cool merchandise for free.

If the chance at free items isn’t enough to entice you, the festival will also offer arts and crafts for the first time. Craft vendors will be selling handmade dresses, quilts, rosary beads and crafts booths.

The St. Charles Business Fest and Craft Fair will open on Friday, March 5 at 12 p.m. and will close at 5 p.m. The fest will then reopen on Saturday, March 6 from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m.
