Wayne Gerard Bourgeois

Wayne Gerard Bourgeois passed away peacefully surrounded by his daughters and wife on Monday, October 12, 2020 after a long battle with Progressive Supranuclear Palsy. He was 58, a native and lifelong resident of Luling, La.

Wayne is survived by his wife Charlotte Bourgeois; daughters: Amanda Kennedy (Jason), Adrienne Bourgeois, Abby Matherne (Matthew); step-daughters: Claire Boudreaux, Lindsay Matherne; grandchildren: Connor Kennedy, Katherine Kennedy (Amanda), Olivia Julien (Adrienne), Myah Matherne (Abby); step-grandchildren: Triston Schaubhut (Claire), Brantley Boudreaux (Claire), Nova Windecker (Lindsay); Siblings: Joseph Jr. (Linda), Carl (Jan), Deryle (Jessica), Keith (Pam), Terry (Barbara), David (Shana), Linda Boudreaux (Gerald), Elaine Tallman (Paul), Debbie Page (Michael), Sharon Metrejean (Duffy).

Wayne was born on April 3, 1962 in Thibodaux, La and is preceded in death by his father and mother Joseph (Knock A Bout) and Marie Landeche Bourgeois. He graduated from Hahnville High School in 1980. Wayne G. (“G for Genius”) worked as a carpenter and was loved by many. He taught his girl’s the value of hard work, integrity and instilled in them the value of faith in Jesus. Wayne was a man of his word with a laugh that was contagious. He loved working in his family’s garden and was a devoted son and brother. He touched the lives of many in his community and will be deeply missed. A funeral is scheduled for Friday, October 16, 2020 at H.C. Alexander Funeral Home in Norco. Private family visitation will be held at 8:30 a.m. and open visitation will be from 9 a.m.-11 a.m. Pastor Tommy Hogan will officiate the ceremony. A burial will follow at Sunset Cemetery in Bayou Gauche with a repass at Life Fellowship Community Church, 2671 Hwy 306, Des Allemands, LA 70039. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Wayne’s life.
