Walter Horace Hebert

Walter Horace Hebert Jr., age 86, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and uncle, went home to be with his Heavenly Father at sunset on his homestead on Magnolia Ridge in Boutte.

Walter “Junie” was preceded in death by his wife Betty Harrell Hebert and his son, Walter “Skeeter” Hebert III; parents Walter H. Hebert Sr. and Jeanette C. Hebert, and sisters Glenda H. Dodson and Janice H. Hutchinson.

He is survived by his daughter, Charlene H. Gutierrez; brother William F. Hebert, Sr.; his grandchildren John C. Gutierrez, Jr., Layla L Hebert, and Heather R. Hebert, two great-grandchildren,

Kenny V. Hebert and Krislyn K. Hebert, and a multitude of nieces, nephews, cousins, lodge brothers, church family and very dear friends.

Walter never met a stranger.

Walter was a Master Mason of over 60 years, Charter Member of St. Charles Lodge #445, Paradis.; Noble of the Jerusalem Temple Shrine, Destrehan.

He started his career upon honorable discharge from the US Navy Seabees at the Texas Co. and retired in 1991 as a gas pipeline manager for Bridgeline Gas Distribution Co. He also served briefly as chief deputy of the St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office under Sheriff John O. St. Amant.

A service for and in celebration of his life will be held at New Life Community Church, 134 Lakewood Drive, Luling on Saturday (Dec. 16) at 11 a.m. A gathering of family and friends follows in the

Fellowship Hall.
