Sharon Weaver Schexnaydre

Sharon Weaver Schexnaydre, Born October 28, 1938, in New Orleans, Louisiana.  She began her new journey with Christ on March 24, 2022, age 83 years old. Married for 65 years to Larry J. Schexnaydre, graduate of St. Charles Borromeo High School in Destrehan, Louisiana. Sharon was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Church Parish.  Sharon and Larry celebrated 65 years of marriage just 3 months ago.

Sharon was one of the last employees of American Oil Refinery in Destrehan.  She also worked at Kaiser Aluminum in Gramercy, Shell Oil Company in Norco, retiring from Bunge Grain in Destrehan.

Sharon was an active member of the Mardi Gras Ramblers and the HRC of the Holiday Ramblers Motorhome Club, also a member of the Cruising Cajuns Chapter of the FMCA Motor Home Club where she helped with the meal programs and game programs for the clubs.

Sharon and Larry enjoyed retirement traveling across Canada from the East Coast to the West Coast as well as crisscrossing the United States from North Dakota to Mexico and back home to Destrehan.

She especially enjoyed her time with her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, seeing them at the many events she would attend.  She cherished those memories; the Sunday get togethers and birthday parties.

Sharon was preceded in death by her father, John Conrad “J.C.” Weaver and her mother, Edith “Dit” Barrios Weaver.  Sharon is survived by her husband Larry of 65 years + , her sister, Cathy (Nick), daughter, Stacy Murray (Paul J. “Joey” Murray III) , 5 grandchildren, Paul IV  (Cheney), Chad (Lauren), Larry Andre’ (Courtney), Jared (Haley), Blake (Kimberly);.  She is also survived by 13 great-grandchildren: Anistin, Sirandin, and Quincin; Maverick and Creed; Kain and Karter; Ayden, Luke and Julianna; Beau, Ivy and Eden, and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

The services will be on Thursday, March 31, 2022.  Family and Friends visitation will be held at St. Charles Borromeo from10:00 am until Mass at 12 O’clock Noon when a Christian Mass will be held.  Internment following Mass at the St. Charles Borromeo Cemetery.
