Ruth Lussan Horn entered into rest on November 17, 2021 at the age of 101. She was the wife of the late Daniel Horn; daughter of the late William and Mary Lussan; sister of the late Thomas Lussan, William Lussan, Mary Beth Cefalu, Helena Pecoraro and Ester Lussan; mother, of Ronald (Kathy), Robert (Renee), Joan Heintz (Late Harvey), Janel Pizzolato (Jack) and Jill Horn. She is survived by 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; sister, Frances “Puddin” Greenfield and son-in-law, Clarence Borne.
Ruth enlisted in the Navy in 1944 as Pharmacist’s Mate Third Class. She went on to obtain her B.S. in Education from LSU teaching Physical Education and Home Economics in Lafayette, Iberville, St. John and St. Charles Parishes. She was an avid seamstress and cook. Ruth loved to travel, fish and making a vegetable garden with her beloved husband.
Many thanks go out to the Annie Brown Sitting Service Sitters who loved Ruth as their own and provided love and outstanding care over the many years.
Visitation will be held at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Hahnville on Monday, November 22nd from 9:00 a.m. until funeral time. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. with burial to follow in St. Charles Cemetery.
