
It is with profound sadness we announce that Roger Joseph Borne Sr., passed on Tuesday, March 18, 2025, at age of 75, surrounded by his family. May he rest in peace knowing his spirit will forever roam in the lakes, woods, and swamps he loved so dearly. He will be remembered for the enduring love for his family and all that knew him.
Born on July 26, 1949, in New Orleans, Louisiana, he grew up in Norco and was a resident of Montz.
Roger was a graduate of Destrehan High School. He retired from GATX and Colonial Sugar Refinery where he worked as a boiler operator.
A true outdoorsman at heart and lover of the land, Roger, found joy in the simple, yet deep-rooted moments spent in nature. Whether it be dropping a trawl at dawn, tending to his vegetable garden and citrus trees, tracking game through the woods, or caring for his honeybees, his hands were always busy hunting, planting, harvesting, or sharing the bounty of his hard work with family and friends.
He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Felicia Duhe Borne; son Roger J. Borne Jr. (Lisa) and daughters Kristin Borne and Shannie Borne. He is also survived by his grandchildren whom he loved and adored, Lauren Vicknair Jones (Harrison), Sarah Borne (Mason), Roger Borne III (Alyssa), Gage Sutton (Adriane), Bentlee Borne, and Stephen Piper; great-grandchildren: Audrey, Josiah, Avagail and Ryder; siblings: Brent Borne, Shannon Bourg, and Alaine Doran; and brother-in-law Dana Duhe. He is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Leopold and Ursula Borne; brother Keith Borne; in-laws Paul and Jeanette Duhe; Godmother Milda Heurtin Robert; Godfather Eddie Borne; granddaughter Andrea Piper and great-granddaughter Brileigh Piper.
Family and friends are invited to attend services on Saturday, April 12, 2025, H.C. Alexander Funeral Home, 22 Apple St. Norco, LA. Visitation will begin at 9 AM, a funeral service will be held at11AM.
