Paula Ruth Caillet

Paula Ruth Caillet, 70, a native of New Orleans, La., and resident of Luling, La., passed away on September 19, 2022.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, September 27, 2022 at Holy Family Catholic Church from 9:00am until service time. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00am with cremation to follow.

Paula is survived by her mother; Bernice Fahrig Caillet, sisters; Denise C. Hillburn, Ellen C. Dupre, and Peggy Jo C. Nelson; brother, Paul (Chris) Caillet, godchildren; Rebecca T. Hillburn, Maria D. Courson, and Lowell A. Nelson, nieces and nephews; Rebecca (Joseph) Coco, Devin Hillburn, Derek (Lisa) Dupre’, James (Meghan) Dupre’, Jesse (Mary Cate) Dupre’, Michael (Anh “Ni”) Dupre’, Maria (Justin) Courson, Rachel (Kyle) Crumpler, Lowell (Brenna) Nelson, Jeffery Nelson, Tristan Nelson, Cecelia Nelson, Melanie Nelson and Blaise Nelson, great-nieces and great-nephews; Lucy, Calista, and Celeste Courson; Anya Crumpler, Kaiden Dupre’, and Brian Dupre’

Paula was preceded in death by her father; Paul V. Caillet, brother; Lowell Paul Caillet, and brother-in-law; David W. Hillburn.

Paula graduated from Hahnville High School in 1970, from Southeastern Louisiana University in Hammond in 1974 with a BA in Elementary Education. Paula was employed by St. Charles Parish School System as a Kindergarten teacher for 25 years, she taught at Killona Elementary School, Paradis Elementary School, with the majority of her teaching career at Des Allemands Elementary School in Des Allemands, La. Paula was a lifelong Parishioner of Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Church in Hahnville, La., she prayed weekly in the Chapel of Perpetual Adoration at St. Mark’s Catholic Church in Ama, La. Paula was a resident of Orange, Texas, and Luling, La. Paula was artistic and had a creative soul; she enjoyed many hobbies including sewing, counted cross stitch, resin casting, tie dye, and many other artistic endeavors.

Paula was a teacher until the day she died and her faith touched many people.

Falgout Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Paula’s family would like to express their gratefulness for all the care and treatment that she received from the doctors and nurses that attended to her will she was at Ochners/St, Charles in Luling, La. and Ochsner’s Main Campus.
