James “Jime” Oneil Lewis, on Monday, May 29, 2006 at 2:30 p.m. A native of Norphlet, Ark., and a resident of Luling, La. Age 82 years. Beloved husband of the late Sarah Lucille Lewis for 50 years. Father of Connie L. Cancienne, Larry Sweeny, Randy Lewis, Ronnie Lewis, and the late Bobby Glen Sweeney. Brother of Bettie L. Early. Step-brother of David Dickson. Also 10 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Preceded in death by parents, Sid and Mamie Robinson Lewis. A sister, Nadine Starr. A brother, Haskel G. Lewis. He entered the Conversation Corps before WWII and then enlisted in the U.S. Army serving as a mechanical instructor. He volunteered for Airborne Infantry duty with the 511th Airborne Infantry, commonly known as the 11th Airborne. Member of VFW, First Baptist Church, he was a deacon, member of Gideons, retired supervisor of Monsanto Chemicals. Relatives and friends of the family were invited to attend funeral services at West St. Charles Baptist Church in Boutte. Interment in St. Charles Cemetery, Luling, La. Falgout Funeral Homes in charge of arrangements.

Ruth M. Malbrough, on Wednesday, May 31, 2006 at 4:53 p.m. in Luling, La. Beloved companion of the late Lee E. Matherne. Mother of Ronald Joseph Reagan, Jr., Donna M. Griffin, Janelle A. Folse, Bonnie L. Hutchinson and Melanie A. Ahysen. Daughter of the late Nelson Malbrough Sr. and Edith Bernard Malbrough. Sister of Lawrence Malbrough, Jeanette Crochet and the late Nelson Malbrough, Jr. Also survived by 12 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. Helmick
George Arthur Helmick. Devoted husband, father, brother, and son, George Helmick was called to our Lord May 22, 2006 at his home in Eupora, Ms. He was born in Charleston, Wv., January 18, 1933 where he grew up. He served in the United States Air Force then began a long career with Union Carbide Corporation as an instrumentation controls supervisor. His career brought him to Louisiana in 1967. Following a one-year assignment in Saudi Arabia, he retired in 1985 and permanently moved to his country place outside of his adopted hometown of Eupora, MS. He was a gifted and fiercely competitive athlete, an avid reader, accomplished writer, and immensely enjoyed the art of conversation, debate and story telling with his many dear friends. He is survived and will be sorely missed by his loving wife, Jacqueline Cox Helmick; daughters Amy Helmick Matherne of Monroe, La., and Georgeanna Helmick Brandt of Gretna LA., sons Randall Helmick of Baton Rouge, La., Thomas Helmick of Zachary, La., and Timothy Helmick of Gretna La.; sisters Frances Helmick Durham of Killen, Tx.; Patsy Helmick Hagar of Tulsa, Ok., Carolyn Reilly of McClean, Va., brother Bill Stewart of Charleston Wv., and his mother, Nora Steed Helmick Stewart of Sarasota, Fl. He is also survived by 3 granddaughters, 2 grandsons, and 1 great-granddaughter. Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church, P. O. Box 556, Eupora, MS 39744.

Thoie Grace Lefebvre Devillier on Thursday, June 1, 2006 at her home in Destrehan, La. Daughter of Bruce J. Lefebvre and Thoie Gilligan Lefebvre. Beloved wife of Keith Devillier. Loving mother of Michelle Latham of Memphis, Tn., Tina L. Hambrick of Jacksonville, Fla., Joshua and Rachelle Latham of Destrehan, La. Sister of Bruce, Jr., Steven, Sr., Wayne Sr., and David Lefebvre, Gina Coglaiti, Susan Hooter, Wendy Coglaiti and the late Patricia Ann Lefebvre. Grandmother of Kaadin and Naomi Hambrick. Beloved husband of the late Ruth Millet Champagne. Daughter of the late Michel Champagne and Louisiana Brady Champagne. Father of Janet B. Hidalgo of Langhorn, Pennsylvania; Karl (Mike) Champagne, of Hahnville, La., and the late Sylvia C. Madere. Father-in-law of Linda H. Champagne and Dr. Horacia A. Elizabeth (Betsy) Petit Zeringue passed away on Monday, May 29, 2006 at River Region Hospice House at the age of 61. A native and resident of Ama, La. Beloved wife of Raymond J. Zeringue for 42 years. Daughter of the late Hilton (Shine) Petit, Sr., and Rose Robert Petit. Mother of Raynell Z. Smith (Elvis), Craig Zeringue (Jill), Duana Z. Hamilton (Lonnie) and Clay Zeringue (Rhonda). Also survived by 11 great grand children.
