Lewis Guglielmo

Lewis “Gig” Guglielmo, age 93, a native of Paulina and longtime resident of Norco died on Wednesday, March 14. Visitation will be from 11:30 AM until funeral time Saturday, March 17 at Sacred Heart Church in Norco. Mass will follow at 1:30 PM and burial will be in St. Charles Borromeo Mausoleum, Destrehan. He is survived by his wife, Fay Boucvalt Guglielmo, two sons: David Guglielmo and wife, Judy and Mark Guglielmo; two daughters: Kathleen Pullaro and husband Eddi and Ellen Hufft, and husband, Harry, seven grandchildren; Jan Galvin, Bryan Pullaro and wife, Denise, Jill Pullaro, Aimee Kinney and husband, Jamie, Matthew Hufft, Cary Guglielmo and wife, Becky and Meghan Cox and husband, John; and seven great-grandchildren, Jacob and Andrew Galvin, Austin Lewis, Brianna and Alayna Pullaro, Owen Lewis Kinney and Titan Cox. He is also survived by one sister, Noelle, brother, Jules Guglielmo and wife Peggy. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Guglielmo, Jr., George Guglielmo and Dudley Guglielmo, Sr. and four sisters, Marie Lucille Guglielmo, Louise Guglielmo, Ines Guglielmo, Frederic and Marie Guglielmo Oubre. He was an independent insurance agent and retired from Shell Oil after 41 years of service. Alexander Funeral Home in Norco in charge of arrangements.

Harry Vickers

Harry Bernard Vickers Jr. born October 4, 1932 in Brunswick, GA. Resident of St. Charles Parish since 1965; died March 11 of congestive heart failure at East Jefferson General Hospital in Metairie at the age of 74. Son of the late Harry Vickers, Sr. and Essie Vickers of Brunswick, GA. Graduate of North Georgia College. Commissioned Officer in the United States Navy aboard the USS Forrestal. Member of the Luling United Methodist church since 1954. Survivors include daughter Leslie Vickers Sargent of Chicago, IL, a son Daniel Vickers of Austin, TX, a son-in-law, David Sargent also of Chicago, a daughter-in-law, Diane Vickers also of Austin TX, and two grandsons, John Tucker Sargent and Cooper Daniel Sargent of Chicago and a granddaughter Laura DeGelia of Austin. Also survived by a sister, Attelia Tomey of Macon, GA. Burial took place in Palmetto Cemetery in Brunswick, GA. In lieu of flowers place make donations to American Cancer Society, Relay for Life, P.O. Box 9, Luling, LA 70070.

Rene Laurent

Rene Philip Laurent entered into eternal rest on Monday, March 12. He was 41 years old, a native of Destrehan and a resident in Des Allemands. He is survived by his loving daughter, Cheyenne Renee Laurent and his longtime companion of 19 years, Rosalyn Schexnayder. Beloved son of Raoul Laurent, Jr. and Carolyn Vedros Laurent. Brother of Paul Laurent and wife, Annette Gigllo Laurent of River Ridge; Suzanne Grayson and husband, James of Destrehan; Raoul Laurent, III and wife Julie Gueho Laurent of Ponchatoula; 3 nephews, Scott nieces, Virginia G. Pansano and Elise Laurent: godparents, Eleanor and Joe Vincent. Also survived by numerous aunts, uncles and cousins and friends. Rene graduated from Destrehan High School in 1983 and studied Funeral services at Delgado College for 2 ½ years. He is also an Army Reserve Veteran. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass of Christian Burial at St. Charles Borromeo Church, 13307 River Road, Destrehan on Saturday March 17 at 11:00 AM. Visitation will be held Friday March 16 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at H.C. Alexander Funeral Homes in Norco and again at the church on Saturday from 8:00 AM to Mass time. Private graveside services will be held at a later date in St. Charles Borromeo Mausoleum. Arrangements by H.C. Alexander Funeral Homes in Norco.

Billy Joe Worley

Billy Joe Worley, Sr. died on Thursday, March 8 at 10:08 PM in Livonia. Husband of Julie Faucheux Worley. Son of the late Carl and Belauh Worley. Father of Billy Jr., Derrick Roche “Rocky” and David Worley, Michelle Jackson and husband, Dan. Brother of Carl, Daniel, James, and Carlton Worley, Barbara Ann Thompson and Jennifer Thompson. Age 61 years and a resident of Livonia. Religious services at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, March 19 at Alexander Funeral Home in Norco. Interment in St. Charles Borromeo Mausoleum in Destrehan. Visitation at Alexander Funeral Home in Norco from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM on Monday, March 12. Alexander Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Viola Taillon

Viola Marie Schexnayder Taillon. A resident of New Sarpy and a native of Edgard she died on Thursday, March 1 in Hammond. She was 81 years old. Visitation was held on March 3 from 9AM until 1 PM at Alexander Funeral Home in Norco. Graveside services were at t1: 45 PM in St. Charles Borromeo Mausoleum in Destrehan. She is survived by daughter: Shirley Genovese, sisters: Pamela Ponzio and Louis Ocmond, Brother: Remy Schexnayder, Jr., 7 grandchildren: Lisa King, Brain Simoneaux, Angela Jacob, David Simoneaux, Rene Simoneaux, Kelly DeAgano, and Dan Taillon an 19 great grandchildren. Preceded by husband Nolan J. Taillon, son: Daniel J. Taillon, sisters, Clara Netto, Mabel Donaldson, and Genevieve Donaldson, brothers Harry and Joe Schexnayder and parents Remy, and Alicia Granier Shexnayder. Thank you Alexander Funeral Homes.
