Janet Marie Babcock Neely, 68, passed away Saturday, June 21.
She was surrounded by her loving husband of 48 years, Howard David Neely and her daughter Barbara Evelyn Neely Self. She was born April 13, 1946 In Battlecreek, Mich.
She resided in Luling for the past 33 years. Preceded in death by her parents, James F. Babcock and Pauline N. Babock.
Janet is survived by her adoptive mother, Barbara Westervelt Babcock, of Texas, her brother Robert Westervelt (Le) of Texas, her husband David Neely of Luling, her brother-in-law Albert Cole Neely of Bossier City, her daughter Barbara Evelyn Neely Self of Luling, and her two grandchildren Tanya Melissa Self and Troy “Bubby” Patrick Self Jr., both of Luling.
Besides being a wonderful and loving housewife and mother, she worked at Ace Cleaners In Luling for 15 years. She was a member of the V.F.W. Auxiliary Post 3750 and American Legion Auxiliary Post 131. A memorial service was held on Saturday, June 28 at the First Union Presbyterian Church at Lakewood Drive in Luling.
Funeral services took place at Hill Crest Funeral Home in Haughton on Wednesday July 2.
