Lorraine Borne Delk

Lorraine Borne Delk, a native of Vacherie and resident of Hahnville, passed away peacefully on May 10, 2020. She was 67 years old.

A private Mass of Christian Burial was held on Wednesday, May 13, 2020 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Hahnville. Her burial followed at Jefferson Memorial Cemetery in St. Rose.

Lorraine is the loving wife to her husband of 43 years, Steve Delk and the mother of daughters Jennifer Lambert (Ched) and Hollie Mule’ (Dustin). She is also survived by 5 grandchildren Drake, Hunter, Dior, Hayden and Drycen, her mother Mary Ann Borne, her mother-in-law Carolyn Delk Champion (Ross), her brothers, sisters and in-laws Clifford Borne (Susan),Sidney Borne (Debbie), Jane Chauvin (Dugan), Eva Knight (Tim), Betty Danos (Jerome), Jimmy Borne (Tricia) and Amy Delk Burnett.  She was preceded in death by her father Clifford Borne Sr., father-in-law Kenneth Delk and brother- in-law Quinton Burnett.

She was an elementary teacher in St. Charles Parish for most of her 37 years in education.  As a teacher, she touched the lives of many students and families.

Lorraine loved hunting and fishing with her husband and enjoyed spending time with her family.  She delighted in loving each one of her grandchildren. Her grandchildren will always remember “Lola” for the wonderful, nurturing, loving example she set for each of them and all the love she showered on them.

She will be profoundly missed.
