Julius R. Granier

Julius R. Granier passed away on February 12, 2022 at the age of 83.  He lived in New Sarpy, LA and was a lifelong resident of St. Charles Parish.  Julius served in the US Navy during the Vietnam War aboard the USS Saratoga.  He retired from the St. Charles Parish Waterworks after 21 years of service and enjoyed gardening and fishing at his camp in Dulac. He was a dedicated and lifelong parishioner of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Norco, LA.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Emile and Georgine Aubert Granier and his loving wife, Berdine “Dee Dee” Vicknair Granier.  Julius is survived by his siblings, Beryl Glover of Destrehan and Joseph “Jackie” Granier of Destrehan.  He is also survived by his children, Ricky Granier (Joyce) of Gary, TX, Ellen Fritz (Seth) of McKinney, TX, and Michael Granier (Sandra) of Spring, TX.  He was the grandfather of Kendra, Kelsey, Rebecca, Ryan, Sean, and Daniel, as well as 9 great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, February 17, 2022 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Norco, LA. Visitation will be held from 9:30 AM – 11 AM with a Mass to begin at 11 AM. Interment will follow at St. Charles Borromeo Cemetery in Destrehan, LA.
