Jerry Charles Champagne, Jr

Jerry Charles Champagne, Jr. passed away unexpectedly yet peacefully at his home in Luling, Louisiana on Tuesday January 25, 2022.

Jerry, aka “Peck”, was a lifelong resident of Luling and was the son of the late Jerry C. Champagne and the late Sylvia Perrer Champagne. He was the husband of Tracey Basinger Champagne and the brother of Sheriff Greg Champagne (Alice), Morris Champagne (Bridget) and Catherine“Katie” Champagne Funck (Frank). He was also loved by his stepmother Melva Kinler Champagne. His joy was his niece Rochelle Champagne Fahrig (Jody) and his nephews Gregory Champagne, Jr. (Emily), Brandon Champagne (Callie), Blake Samaha (Courtney) and Brent Samaha.

Jerry was a graduate of Hahnville High School and Nicholls State University where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Finance. He was employed at Shell as a financial analyst for the past 25 years. “Peck” loved hanging out with family at the beach, at barbecues, seafood boils and at the camp. He enjoyed cooking and dart tournaments where he was respected for his accuracy.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial on Monday, January 31, 2022 at Holy Family Catholic Church on Lakewood Drive in Luling beginning at 12:00 P.M. Visitation will be held from 9:00 A.M. until funeral time at 12:00 P.M. with Father Stephen Dardis officiating. Interment will be at St. Charles Cemetery on Paul Maillard Road, Luling, Louisiana.
