Jean Bihm Colvin

Jean Bihm Colvin, 80, passed away on Sept. 11, 2018.

Colvin was the mother of Sherri Michel (Mark) and Donna Zeringue (Harold); grandmother of Mark Jr., Sam, Eric and Parker; daughter of the late Catherine L. and Joe C. Bihm Sr.

She was the sister of Dale Bihm, Jimmy Bihm, Lloyd Bihm and Floyd Bihm, as well as the late Joe Bihm Jr., Arnold Bihm, Pat Bihm, Farrel Bihm, Vida Bihm and Annette Rung.

She is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Colvin was a devoted Christian, entrepreneur and mother. She demonstrated vividly her love for her family. When she had time, she loved to do arts and crafts projects. She was also known for her cooking and generosity toward others, except when asked for her recipe for a particular dish, because they were never written down. She saw a need for a cleaning service in St. Charles Parish and formed one, then opened a craft business out of her home, where she loved assisting others with their needs.

She was so well known for her gumbo that she was asked to make a pot for denominations she did not belong to. She will be missed.

A private graveside service will be held at St. Charles Mausoleum.
