Herbert “Herb” Joseph Hotard Jr.

Herbert “Herb” Joseph Hotard Jr., 53, passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 23, after a lengthy battle with cancer.

He was preceded in death by his father, Herbert “Pete” Hotard and mother, Joyce A. Hotard. He leaves behind his beloved wife of 18 years, Melody Hotard, his four children: Stacey Trosclair (Cory) of Baton Rouge; Jessica Bardwell and Janssen Bardwell of Ponchatoula and Justin Bardwell (Megan) of Albany. He leaves four grandchildren: Gabrielle and Mychael Bardwell and Ashton and Morley Bardwell. Hotard is also survived by his sisters, Ann Spell (Kirk) and Judy Moreau (Carl) of Luling.

He was born in New Orleans and was a lifelong resident of Luling. He retired as maintenance supervisor from the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development after 30 years of dedicated service.

A funeral service was held at the Vinyard Church in Kenner, on Saturday, Dec. 27 at 11 a.m. Interment followed in St. Charles Mausoleum in Luling.
