Betty Harrell Hebert

Betty Harrell Hebert passed away on March 22, 2009. Age 70. Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend, and above all, a precious child of God, Betty went home to be with her Heavenly Father peacefully surrounded by her husband, Walter, and daughter, Charlene.

Her passing was much like her life – full of dignity and deeply grounded in her Christian faith. Betty was preceeded in death by her parents, Virgie and Charles Harrell, her father-in-law, Walter H. Hebert Sr., her sister-in-law, Janice Hutchinson, and her oldest child, Walter Hebert III (aka Skeeter).

She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Walter; her daughter, Charlene; her sister, Marti Stanfield, and her husband, Don; her borther Shelby Harrell and his wife, Janelle; her borther-in-law, William Hebert, Sr.; sister-in-law, Glenda Dodson; daughter-in-law, Wanda B. Hebert; three grandchildren, Layla, John and Heather; two great-grandchildren, Krislyn and Kenny; and her “adopted” mother, Miss Jeanette C. Hebert, matriarch of the Hebert family, and a multitude of nieces, nephews, cousins and very dear friends.

If the quality of one’s life is judged solely by those who mourn the passing of the person, Betty’s life was, indeed, a deeply rich one. Our family would like to express our heartfelt thanks to Hospice Care of Louisiana. A service of Celebration of Life will be held at First Union Presbyterian Church on Lakewood Drive in Luling on Saturday, March 28 at 3 p.m. A reception will follow.
