James “Jimmy” Fonseca Sr., 80, a native of Lafourche Parish and a resident of Raceland, passed away on Sunday, Nov. 3 at 9:15 a.m. in Raceland.
Visitation was Tuesday, Nov. 5 and the funeral was Wednesday, Nov. 6 at Falgout Funeral Home in Raceland. Religious services took place at 11 a.m., Wednesday at Falgout Funeral Home with burial following at St. Mary Cemetery.
He is survived by his sons; James Fonseca Jr. and wife Mary Jo, Robert Fonseca and wife Susan; daughters, Peggy Adams and husband Richard, Marlene Guidry and husband Philip; step sons, Blain and Bart Bourg; sister, Florence Arcement; seven grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mildred Breaux Fonseca; second wife, Magdalen Cortez Fonseca; parents, Gillis and Esprence Fonseca and brothers, Emanuel and Roland Fonseca.
