Reed J. Folse, 77, a native and resident of Raceland, died at 2:30 p.m. Friday Sept. 26, 2008.
Funeral service was held at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Mary’s Nativity Catholic Church in Raceland, with burial in the church cemetery. He is survived by one son, Jan R. Folse and wife, Lynn; three daughters, Lynelle F. Arabie and husband, Dana, Laurie F. Matherne and husband, Dirk, and Lia F. Wascom and husband, Alex; two brothers, Clayton Folse and Pott Folse; three sisters, Leonelle “Nan” Melancon, Zefa Penisson and Helen Zeringue; and seven grandchildren, Ben Arabie, Evan Matherne, Colin Matherne, Grant Wascom, Connor Wascom, Andre’Folse and Alexis Folse.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Sylvia A. Folse; his parents, Emile A. and Serelia Bourgeois Folse; and two brothers, Harold Folse Sr. and Hodges “Dee Dee” Folse Sr. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and a parishioner of St. Mary’s Nativity Catholic Church.
