Lucy Cleveland Dube

Lucy Cleveland Dube died peacefully on Oct. 28 at Gulf Pointe Nursing Home.

Dube was born Aug. 5, 1920 in Hahnville.

She graduated from Hahnville High School and Hotel Dieu School of Nursing.  She worked as an R.N. in New Orleans until she met and married the love of her life, William E. “Bill” Dube, and moved to Rockport, Texas.  She was a parishioner of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and an active member of the community.

She is survived by a niece, Patricia Cleveland Haydel, a great nephew, Donald Haydel III, a great-great niece Harper Haydel and great-great nephew Cruz Haydel.  She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 yrs., William E. “Bill” Dube, and infant son, Robert William Dube, her parents George E. and Lucy Keller Cleveland, her sister, Marguerite Cleveland Landeche and four brothers, George E. Cleveland, Jr., James Albert Cleveland, Robert Allen Cleveland and John Harry Cleveland.

A graveside service will be held Nov. 21 at Rockport Cemetery conducted by Father Ray Yrlas of Sacred Heart Church.
