It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Charles James Champagne Sr. on Sunday December 21, 2025, at the age of 88. Charles was born on September 28, 1937, in Luling, LA. He was a longtime resident of Luling, and was living his retirement years in Picayune, MS. An avid family man, Charles loved visiting and playing with his 5 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. He served his country in the US Marine Corps, then worked and retired from Monsanto in Luling.
Charles is survived by his sons Ricky (Jennifer) and Chuck (Michelle). He also left behind his grandchildren Melanie, Emery, Ellie, Drake & Dalton, great grandchildren Evelyn, Daxton, Walker & Charlie. He leaves behind his sister Bessie and brothers Ronald, Dave Sr., Anthony Sr. and Wayne Sr.. He is preceded in death by his wife Alma Champagne, son Randy (Dana), mother and father Mary & Horace Champagne Sr., sister Pearl, brother’s Harold Sr., Alvin, Morris, Johnny Sr., Jerry Sr., Horace Jr. and Thomas.
Charles leaves a legacy of family. Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers. His soul will be forever missed by his family and friends. At this time formal arrangements are going to be held on February 7, 2026, at St Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 720 E. Beach Blvd, Long Beach, MS 39560. Visitation starts at 10:00 am followed by Mass at 11:00 am.. Following the service there will be a gathering in the Church Hall.
