Jean Marie Louviere Cambre

Jean Marie Louviere Cambre peacefully entered eternal rest at her residence surrounded by her family on Sunday, June 10.

She was born in Houston, grew up in Kenner and was a resident of Norco since 1960. She graduated from Kenner High School and earned a B.S. in Education from Loyola and a Masters Degree from Tulane University. She was a foreign language teacher with the Jefferson Parish School System for over 30 years and after retirement worked as a French Teacher at Riverside Academy in Reserve. Jean Marie was active in the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) Vieux Carre Chapter as a member and former Regent, the Daughters of the Confederacy and a dedicated member of the St. Joan of Arc and Sacred Heart Choirs.

Wife of the late Rodney L. Cambre, Sr., daughter of the late Caroline “Carrie” Marie Bourque and Joseph Eugene Louviere. Mother of Rodney L. Cambre, Jr., Michelle C. Duhe (Doyle), Andre E. Cambre (Leslie), Denise A. Cambre, and Carey C. Rochelle (George). Grandmother of Cameron, Aaron, Clayton, and Caroline Cambre, George, Shelby, and Abby Rochelle, Meredith and Michael Duhe.

Visitation was Friday, June 15, 2012 at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Norco. Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated with Father Terry Becnel as officiant. Burial followed at St. Charles Borromeo Mausoleum in Destrehan.
