Leopold Baptist Borne, Jr.

Leopold Baptist Borne, Jr., sandblaster-painter for Shell Chemical, died on Monday, March 24, 2008 at 12:30 p.m. at his residence of 7 years in Ponchatoula Age 82. A native of Edgard and had lived in Norco for the past 56 years.

He was a seaman first Class in the Korean War in the Navy and was a Catholic. Survivors: wife, Ursula H. Borne of Ponchatoula, LA; 3 sons: Robert J. (wife, Felicia) Borne, Sr. of Montz, Keith F. Borne of Norco,  and Brent J. Borne of Montz; 2 daughters: Shannon (husband Terry) O’Pry of Ponchatoula, and Alaine Borne of Ponchatoula, LA; 14 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by: parents: Leopold Borne, Sr. and Denise Borne; siblings: Denise Borne, Claire Guidry, Eddie Borne, Theodore Borne, Roger Borne and Whitney Borne. He was a member of the American Legion, loved to fish and hunt and he was a citrus farmer and grew a variety of fruit trees. Visitation Wednesday, March 26, 2008 from 9:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. at the H.C. Alexander Funeral Home, Norco Religious Services at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at St. Charles Borromeo Church, Destrehan conducted by Fr. Monsignor Harry Bugler. interment St. Charles Cemetery.
