
Roland Paul Bernard went to meet the Lord on Tuesday, Aug.12, 2008.He was 85 years of age and lived a full and happy life.
He served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II. Following service to his country, he began his surveying career which spanned 55 years. Throughout the years he touched many hearts with his generosity and love. He was preceded in death by parents, Eddie and Lucille Bernard, and his seven brothers and sisters. He is survived by three children; Michael D. Bernard, Katherine M. Bernard and Tricia A. Bernard and five grandchildren, Bethany B. Ayuso, Kenneth P. Dempster, Jr., Kerry M. Dempster, Mallory C. Muller, and Matthew J. Muller; two great grandchildren, Michael Ayuso and Kayden Dempster.
Visitation was held at the Holy Family Church in Luling on Thursday, Aug. 14 from 9 a.m. until 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial was be held at 10 a.m. from the church. Burial followed at St. Charles Cemetery Mausoleum. A celebration of Roland’s life took place at Occasions on Highway 90, immediately following the burial.
