E. George Beck Jr. , 77, passed away Thursday, July 13, 2017 in Luling after a courageous battle with Parkinson’s and kidney disease.
Beloved husband of Myra Gail Land Beck for the past 55 years; loving father of Myra Dee Beck Head (Ben F. Head) and the late Amy Jo Beck Doss of Paradis; adoring grandfather of Elizabeth Head Hymel (Derek T. Hymel) and great-grandfather of Aimee Elizabeth Hymel and Ava Jo Hymel.
George is son of the late to Ernest “Ernie” G. Beck Sr. and Doris Faulkner Beck; brother of Linda Beck Sweeney of Cannon Beach, Oregon, William Beck (Jackie Beck) of Madisonville, Miss., and the late Debbie Beck Shirley of Boca Raton, Fla; uncle of Leslie Beck Hambrick.
A native of Philadelphia, Penn., and resident of St. Charles Parish for the last 36 years, he relocated from Columbus, Ga.
He was an accomplished businessman, who was respected and admired by his colleagues.
George was a devoted family man who took great pleasure in his children, grandchild and great grandchild. He was a dear and cherished friend to those who had the pleasure of knowing him. George was also an animal lover, having had many canine companions throughout his life.
Services were held July 16 with a private interment to follow.
