Daughter of the late Lawrence and Irene Douglas, Doris Alexander was the wife of the late Henry C. Alexander Jr.; mother of Avis Trice (Richard), Sherlyn Alexander, Ellis Alexander (Christine), Henry Charles Alexander, III (Mary Ellen), Sophie Alexander, Dwayne Alexander, Giovanni Hamilton (Jimmie) and the late Randall Alexander.
Alexander is the sister of the late Marguerite Rodney and Sophie Green; sister-in law of Morris White, the late Melvin Alexander and Albert Green.
She is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, one great great grandchild, a niece Valerie White and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.
At 88 years old, Alexander was a native of Luling and a resident of Hahnville.
Alexander’s funeral was held Sept. 1 with Father Joel Cantones as celebrant. Interment followed in Holy Rosary Cemetery in Taft.
