Zydeco’s moving to vacated 90 West location

Owner says parking was a problem

Due to space limitations at its current location, Zydeco’s is moving from Paradis to the building formerly inhabited by 90 West, which recently went out of business.

Owner Dustin Gainey said that his restaurant has been extremely busy in Paradis, even serving as many as 850 people during Lenten Fridays.

“This move will give us more space,” he said. “We get a lot of calls for parties and banquets and we were unable to do that at our current facility.”

Gainey said that Zydeco’s was so busy, that parking was a problem for his customers.

“We have 42 parking spaces at our Paradis location and when we move to the new location we will have 100 parking spots,” he said. “The new facility is bigger and is better for our customers.”

Gainey added that the Boutte location is in the “heart of everything” and that the location’s turning lane will also make things easier on his customers.

When residents flock to Zydeco’s new location, they won’t notice much of a difference on the inside. Gainey said he will add his buffets and new equipment, but that he will not make any major changes.

One surprise addition is that Gainey will open another restaurant in the same building. He is mum on what the restaurant will serve, only saying that it will be small and have limited seating.

Gainey said that he is shooting for a mid-September opening date for the new Zydeco’s location.
