Parish residents will soon have an affordable way to celebrate the true meaning of Christmas by purchasing unique yard signs that showcase a picture of the nativity and read, “This House Believes!”
Lori Templet, who created and designed the signs, says she came up with the idea because she felt the true meaning of Christmas was getting lost.
“We are a family of faith and we have been through great trials, including the death of our son and my mother,” Templet said. “Santa’s nice, but he only comes once a year with toys. Jesus carries us everyday and He is paving our way to eternity. My daughter, Hope, wishes to see Baby Jesus in everyone’s yard.”
Sales from the yard signs, which cost $12, will go to help missionary work in Uganda, Africa. That money will be used to help build wells and churches, and will also support the areas orphanages.
“This is an opportunity for homeowners to share the good news from their own front yards as well as with our Christian brothers and sisters in Uganda, for whom clean water is a luxury.”
The 24×18 signs, which come with yard stakes, can be ordered now at For Heaven’s Sake on Hwy. 90 in Boutte. The store is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. until 6 p.m. and on Saturdays from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. The signs are expected to arrive around Dec. 1, but only a limited number will be printed and available for purchase before Christmas day.
Because of overwhelming response, Templet says that she will also have signs available for Easter.
