Come on down to the 2007 United Way 5K Bridge RunAs long as you’re reading this before April 14, It isn’t too late to sign up for the 2007 United Way of St. Charles 5K Bridge Run. Registration is $25 and packet pick-up and registration is April 13 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

The marathon starts at the East Bank Bridge Park in Destrehan and ends at the West Bank Bridge Park in Luling.

Over $4,000 in prize money is up for grabs and other great activites will be available to everyone like the rock climbing wall, face painting and balloon art.

Animal shelter rabies shots are a good deal for $10

Elementary school holds annual Cajun open house

PARADIS – R.J. Vial Elementary School will hold its annual Cajun open house April 27 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Games, music, Cajun dancing and a jambalaya cook-off will be featured. To participate in the cook-off, call Sara Price at 985-758-6699. The school is also in need of raffle donations.

Youth gardening program

LULING – The St. Charles Parish County Agent’s Office of the LSU AgCenter will sponsor a junior master gardener training program to be conducted during the upcoming 2007-08 school year. An orientation meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, April 24 for 6 p.m. at at the St. Charles Parish County Agent’s Office.
