Webb Jay is running for Council District 3 in St. Charles Parish

Webb Jay, president of the Ormond Civic Association, has announced his candidacy for Council District 3 in St. Charles Parish.

Jay said he loves his community and, while District 3 has many things people are looking for in a place to raise their families, he would like to work to improve drainage, promote and expand recreation facilities for young people.

He also said he wants to “encourage responsible business growth and ensure taxes remain low and are well spent.”

A native and resident of Destrehan, he attended Destrehan High School. Jay received his bachelor of science in religion from Liberty University and is currently attending Regent University in pursuit of his masters of divinity degree.

As an ordained minister and community leader, Jay has also worked with several nonprofit organizations and churches and has served in various areas of Christian ministry.

He currently oversees the student ministries and serves as the director of church life at South Pointe Church.

Having served as Ormond Civic Association’s president for the last four years, Jay said he has gained a unique understanding of local residents’ needs.

For the last 15 years, he also has worked as a real estate agent and associate broker. He is currently affiliated with Latter & Blum in Destrehan.
