Wal-Mart evacuates for bomb threat

Wal-Mart customers and employees were evacuated from the Boutte store today (Thursday) after receiving a bomb threat.

The St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene when it was notified that a bomb threat had been made by telephone at 10:07 a.m.

Deputies inspected the location and found no bomb, according to the Sheriff’s Office. By 10:57 a.m., they cleared the site and employees returned to the store.

Local Wal-Mart management declined to comment on the incident.
