Waggaman man charged with attempted murder in St. Rose

Altercation lead to neck stabbing, serious injury

A Waggaman man sought in connection with the Jan. 8 stabbing of a St. Rose man has been arrested and charged with attempted second-degree murder.

Jerry L. Brown Jr. turned himself in the next day and is being held at the Nelson Coleman Correctional Center, said Capt. Pat Yoes, spokesman for the St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office.

Brown, 35, was being sought in connection with stabbing a St. Rose man in the neck following an altercation at about 9 p.m., Yoes said.

“During the altercation, Brown allegedly stabbed the victim in the neck causing life threatening injuries, which required surgery,” he said.

Brown’s last known address is Megehee Street in Waggaman.
