Third arrest made in St. Rose armed robbery

A St. Rose man was arrested after authorities say he and three other men broke into a home, but were bested by the homeowner who shot two of the alleged burglars.

Brandon Armstrong, 21, of 165 2nd St. in St. Rose, was arrested on Feb. 15 and charged with armed robbery and aggravated battery.

The incident took place in late December when four men broke into a home on E. Club Drive looking for money at 11:25 p.m. The homeowner, Christopher Nunnery, 21, was able to wrestle the gun away from one of the men and fired shots at the intruders, according to the police report.

After fleeing the home, police say that John Jackson Jr., 19, and Kenneth Nelson, 19, were found in front of Jackson’s home at 495 Fourth St. with family members tending to their wounds.

Jackson was shot in his arm. He was treated and released from the hospital, arrested and charged with aggravated battery and armed robbery, according to the report.

Nelson, of 640 Mockingbird Lane, was also shot.

Nunnery was later arrested during the investigation when police found Marijuana in his home, according to Capt. Pat Yoes with the Sheriff’s Office.

Police are still looking for one other suspect connected with the incident.
