The screaming has only just begun

‘Scream’ filming scenes for the MTV series throughout parish

A “Scream: The TV Series” film crew appeared in Luling last week for the latest filming of the MTV series’ second season, the latest of several areas they have been shooting in St. Charles Parish.

Actors and the crew appeared at a cottage style house on Fourth Street, where they shot scenes all night for the hit slasher show.

Neighbors reported receiving a notice from the film crew apologizing for any noises – screams, of course – during the late night shoots on Wednesday and Thursday of last week.Quixote Studios trailers were lined up in the parking lot of the old CVS parking lot on Paul Maillard Road.

In mid-February, Mike and Becky Henderson confirmed they signed a contract for filming scenes for “Scream 2” at their historic home near Homeplace Plantation in Hahnville.

Shooting at the location is expected to occur any time from February to July.

The movie “Scream” debuted in 1996  and was widely received, growing into the latest flick of Scream 4 released in 2011.

The TV series, which continues this movie franchise’s satire and humor, was renewed for a second season. The first season’s finale paid tribute to the film series’ director Wes Craven who died on Aug. 30 of last year.

The first season was filmed in Baton Rouge while this one is being done in the New Orleans area, including the parish.

Show writer Jill Blotevogel  told Entertainment that season 2’s “new mystery” for the show will focus on who the person is behind the mask.

According to Blotevogel, “Just because season 1 ends and a killer is caught doesn’t necessarily mean the bad things our kids have done go away or are reset. They’ve all participated in bad things.”
