Teen accused of raping girl while friends watch

A 15-year-old Destrehan boy was arrested and charged with forcibly raping a 16-year-old girl in St. Rose while four of his friends watched the attack, according to the St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office.

The alleged assault took place at the girl’s home on Oct. 23. An alert neighbor noticed that there was a large group of people at the girl’s home and notified the girl’s parents, who were away from the residence. The girl’s father rushed to the home and scared two boys and three men away, according to Capt. Pat Yoes, spokesman for the Sheriff’s Office.

Later that night, the father called the Sheriff’s Office and reported that his daughter had been raped.

Authorities would not release the name of the 15-year-old accused of raping the girl because he is a juvenile. One of the people who apparently watched the attack, a 16-year-old charged with principal to forcible rape, was also not identified because of his age.

The other three suspects were charged with principal to forcible rape. They are:  Cornell Clay, 18, of 728 Turtle Creek Lane in St. Rose; Qwaman Kenner, 18, of 418 Luling Ave. in Luling and Rashaud Capers, 17, of 317 Meadows Drive in Destrehan.
