Suspect sought in Luling shooting turns himself in

One of two men accused of shooting a man in the back in Luling turned himself in to the St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office.

Ross Hooper, 20, of 118 Allison Drive in Luling, was booked and charged with principle to attempted second degree murder. Hooper was released on $250,000 bond.

The second man sought in the Nov. 21 shooting, Tyle Dufrene, 21, of 170 Schmill Street in Boutte, facing one charge each of second degree attempted murder and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, is still at large.

Dufrene is approximately 5’10 and weighs approximately 170 lbs. with black hair and hazel eyes, according to the St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office.

The two are accused of shooting a man around 1:24 p.m. on Luling Estates Drive. The victim, not identified by the Sheriff’s Office, was apparently shot twice in the back and taken to a local hospital where he was reported in stable condition.
