St. Rose woman killed in Thanksgiving hit-and-run

A 25-year-old St. Rose woman was killed early Thanksgiving morning when she was hit by a vehicle on St. Rose Avenue. The driver who hit the woman fled and is being sought by state police.

According to state police, the vehicle was traveling southbound on St. Rose Avenue at 1:45 a.m. when the crash occurred. Christin Allday walked across the road and was hit after she failed to yield to the oncoming vehicle.

Allday received life threatening injuries and was transported to St. Charles Parish Hospital, where she later died.

State police obtained a blood and urine sample from Allday to determine whether or not she was impaired at the time of the crash.

Police do not know any details about the vehicle that struck Allday, and are asking that anyone with information into the hit-and-run call (504) 471-2775.
