Parents of St. Charles Parish children will have several local-area Trunk or Treat events to choose from in late October, offering an alternative way to celebrate Halloween and bag lots of candy in a safer, traffic-controlled environment.
The Arc of St. Charles will host its version of Trunk or Treat on Thursday, Oct. 26 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at 13771 Old Spanish Trail in Boutte as part of the group’s annual Fall Festival. The event will feature a haunted house, best costume and trunk contest, music, petting zoo, face painting, game truck, concessions, food trucks and more. Both St. Charles Parish high schools plan to hold Trunk or Treat events on each respective side of the river this year.
Destrehan High School (DHS) will host its third annual Trunk or Treat event in the school’s One Wildcat Lane parking lot on Oct. 25 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., hosted by DHS’ Athletic Department and its National Honors Society group. Sponsored by Shell, the event promises to showcase several of its departments, including its athletic groups and clubs. DHS’ event will include face painting and games for local participants.
Hahnville High School’s Trunk or Treat event begins later this month on Oct. 30 at 6 p.m., ending at 8 p.m., offering food, candy, games and prizes. The event will take place in Hahnville’s front parking lot at 200 Tiger Drive. Call 985-758-7537 for more information.
Boutte-area haunted house ‘Haunting on Da Bayou’ is planning its Trunk or Treat event for local residents on Sunday, Oct. 29 at its 14291 US-90 location, beginning at 6 p.m. Local residents can bag candy in a safe environment that will also offer music, food truck vendors, and several classic cars on display. Toys for Tots will also attend the event, collecting toy donations for its upcoming Christmas toy drive.
