The St. Charles Public Schools Foundation, in partnership with the United Way of St. Charles, will host a free musical concert featuring local talent on Sunday, April 10.
Current American Idol contestant Kevin Gullage with Kevin and the Blues Groovers will entertain the crowd, along with district students Olivia Grace, Haylee Gartrell, T’nes Pierre, Madison Neighbors and Sadie Rochelle.
Held at the West Bank Bridge Park in Luling from 4 p.m. – 7 p.m., the outdoor concert will also feature the Taste of New Orleans Food Truck.
The St. Charles Public School Foundation, run by a voluntary board of directors, is a non-profit corporation that raises money through grants, earmark donations, commemorative donations and events to provide grant opportunities to teachers for programs, books, activities and children’s needs. The foundation has been designated as a United Way Partner Agency.
“We are excited to be able to support arts programs like these pop-ups through the St. Charles Parish Public School Foundation,” UWSC Director of Community Impact Kacy Kernan said. “It is a great opportunity to bring the community together for a free and enjoyable afternoon for the whole family.”
Maureen Pizzolato, a St. Charles Parish Public Schools employee who sits on the foundation’s board as a school district representative, said the event is free to attend and that no tickets are needed. Over 500 people attended the concert last year, she added.
Patrons are asked to bring their own chairs, Pizzolato said, and are also welcome to bring in their own beverages and refreshments.
