St. Charles Parish announces closures ahead of Hurricane Delta

St. Charles Parish President Matthew Jewell has announced that the Courthouse and all government buildings will be closed Friday, October 9, 2020 due to the anticipated effects of Hurricane Delta.

St. Charles Parish is currently under a Tropical Storm Warning and Storm Surge Watch.

Jewell said St. Charles Paris is likely to experience affects mid-day Friday, including tropical storm force winds of 39 to 57 mph, with the potential for tornadoes, storm surge potential of 1-3 feet, and 1-2 inches of rain.

All boat launches and the Sector Gate are closed. The Council on Aging will also be closed on Friday.

Garbage service will continue Friday and will run early to ensure all garbage is collected by mid-day.
