The St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office is asking for video surveillance footage taken in the Montz area around Oct. 1 to aid the investigation of numerous vehicle burglaries in the area.
On Oct. 1, the Sheriff’s Office responded to the reported theft of a white 2011 Toyota Highlander on Evangeline Road in Montz.
In the investigation, detectives discovered numerous vehicle burglaries in the area around the same time.Detectives have located video footage and are working on obtaining it to share with citizens.
Anyone with video surveillance cameras in the area of Evangeline Road or with information regarding the criminal acts is asked to contact Detective Joseph Dewhirst of the St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office at (985) 783-1135 or (985) 783-6807.
Sheriff Greg Champagne advises residents to lock their vehicles and ensure valuables are removed from them or kept out of sight.
