Sheriff’s crime alerts a success

Approximately 150 new subscribers last week

Sheriff Greg Champagne reports that his crime alert project has had a great response, especially within the past couple of weeks. “This is something that I have been doing for a while, and recently we have received great feedback and an increase in subscribers,” said Champagne.

Champagne says that the email alerts are a quick way to notify citizens in the parish of important information, and in the future he would like to modify the outgoing alerts so that they would be delivered to residents in particular areas.

For example, if a crime is committed in Norco, the alert would be sent to individuals who have registered in that area.

The sheriff wants residents to know that when they sign up to receive the crime alerts their email addresses are used only for that purpose and will not be shared with others.
