Sheriff seeks help identifying suspected Walmart thieves

St. Charles Parish Sheriff Greg Champagne is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying two men alleged to have committed a robbery at Walmart in Boutte.

On July 30, at approximately 4:45 p.m., two unknown black males were inside of the Boutte Walmart when they allegedly stole an elderly lady’s wallet.

One, dressed in a black shirt, proceeded to distract the elderly female (81 years old) while one wearing a white shirt dug into the victim’s purse and stole her wallet.

The two males left the store in a sedan vehicle towards Jefferson Parish on US Highway 90.

On the same date, at about 5:40 p.m., the two unknown males entered the Home Depot in Marrero and used the victim’s credit card in the amount of $800, purchasing two $400 gift cards. They also purchased a $700 A/C Unit with an unknown credit card.

Anyone with information on the identity of these two suspects is asked to contact Detective Chris Baird with the St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office at 985-783-1135 or 985-783-6807.
