Tires were slashed on 11 vehicles in Luling
Four juveniles were arrested after they apparently slashed tires on vehicles in Luling. St. Charles Parish Sheriff Greg Champagne said he has ordered deputies to strictly enforce curfew after the incident.
Several tires were slashed at around 3 a.m. Wednesday morning on Evelyn Drive, Davis Drive and St. Nicholas Street. Even a trailer in the parking lot of Luling’s Winn-Dixie was slashed, according to Champagne.
Champagne said the tires were slashed for “no apparent reason.”
On Thursday, four juveniles ranging in age from 12-16 were arrested in connection with the crimes.
After receiving reports of the slashed tires, Champagne said his deputies would enforce curfew for all juveniles.
“Any juvenile on the streets after 10 p.m. will be arrested and brought to our office where parents will be awakened and summoned to appear,” Champagne said in a Facebook post. “I am receiving reports of numerous juveniles walking the streets far too late at night.”
The names of the four arrested juveniles were not released due to their age, but Champagne said that they were detained overnight until their court hearing the next morning.
