Sheriff offering Xbox One in order to catch Norco vandals

In order to track down vandals who have used pellet guns to cause damage to 11 windows, homes and vehicles in Norco, St. Charles Parish Sheriff Greg Champagne is offering an Xbox One for information leading to the arrests and convictions of those responsible.

The Xbox One is one of the most-wanted Christmas gifts this year and is currently sold out at most retailers.

The vandals first struck on Wednesday, Nov. 27 by shooting out the rear windshields of three vehicles. Two of the incidents were in the 400 and 500 block of West B Street and the third occurred in the 200 block of St. Charles St.

Last Saturday night, vandals again struck the rear windshield of a car parked at the Cart-N-Carry on River Road. Champagne said they also tried to destroy a window at Haydel’s Furniture on Apple Street by shooting it three times.

Since then, six similar incidents have occurred.

Champagne suspects that the vandals are riding around Norco between 6:30 p.m. and 9 p.m. looking for targets. He believes at least two male juveniles in the area are responsible.

Anyone with information on these incidents is urged to contact Det. Chris Baird by calling 911 or (985) 783-6807.
